Lauded Assistant Resort Sommelier at five-star One & Only hotel in Cape Town, Pearl is well recognized for driving a passion for wine in the hospitality industry. She has successfully executed award-winning wine lists for Diners Club International and Platter’s wine list awards. Where she clinched numerous Diamond and Platinum wine list awards for 5* Hotels she was engaged at.

Later she was also invited as a judge for one of the years she did not participate in the competition. She showcased alongside top South African Sommeliers in the earlier years of her career as part of the Sommelier judging panel of Master Chef SA. Wine panel judge for Winelands magazine, Ultra Best Value Wine judge 2014-2016 amongst others, we’re judging on the Shiraz SA panel has always been amongst her favorite.

One of Pearl’s fondest memories is about the charitable work she did along with a few of South Africa’s top Chefs at the Chef who shares Auctions, which sadly has come to pass. These auctions were done in aid of less fortunate children and the event utilized local produce from places such as Abalimi Bezekhaya (meaning farmers of the home). She is an Honorary Executive Board Member of SASA and the National Chair of the Black Cellar Club – BLACC.
