South African iconic furniture and interior designer, Haldane Martin is internationally renowned for work with a powerful sense of identity. His designs are heralded as culturally significant contributions to the South African design language. 

Haldane Martin focuses on innovative hospitality design – designing bespoke furniture that enhances experience and creating original spaces with bold identity.

His early works (Zulu Mama chair, Fiela lights, Songololo sofa) drew major recognition, exploring contemporary African culture, sustainability and biomimicry. Haldane successfully added high-concept interior design to his resume with Truth Coffee – winning international acclaim, Truth was named best coffee shop multiple times and won a Gold Loerie. More recently Urbanologi at Mad Giant brewery won Best Restaurant Design in Africa & the Middle  East at the 2017 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London & Haldane also had the honor of being a judge in the same awards the following year. 

His iconic designs aim to express identity and the zeitgeist of the day through the seamless integration of conceptual depth, aesthetic beauty and elegant functionality in a timeless fashion.
