Jennifer Paterson
Managing Director of Trans Africa Safaris
Jennifer has worked in every aspect of the inbound tour business from cleaning cars, doing transfers, designing
fabulous itineraries for luxury tourists and managing the finances. Her passion lies in making travelers’ dreams
come true in Africa.
She was practically born into the travel business, starting work in her father’s travel agency straight after
matriculating. She then worked in England, travelling extensively across the UK and Europe and becoming
Tours Manager at 23. Jennifer then built up the company’s high-end business in the United States through
constant visits over a 5-year period.
After the unexpected death of her father in 1993, she took over the role of Managing Director of Trans Africa
Safaris. It is the oldest inbound tourism company in Africa, celebrating its centenary in 2018. To this day it
remains very much a family business.
She is very active in the community and has been president of the Kirstenbosch Rotary Club. Jennifer was one
of two South Awardees for the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge in Barcelona in 2012.
