Debra Fox

Fox Browne Creative

Debra, and her partner Chris, started their business, Fox Browne Creative, in 2009 with the simple goal of making a difference through hospitality design. Debra is a veteran hotelier, bridging the gap between operations and design. She is service-focused and passionate about both guests and the staff who take care of them.

Before starting Fox Browne Creative, Debra served as the Chief Operating Officer for &Beyond, the largest experiential travel company in the world. She was part of the team that expanded the company from 4 lodges to 40 across 7 countries in Africa, India, Latin America, and the Middle East. This included the development and operation of Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, which was voted the best hotel in Africa and the second-best hotel in the world by Condé Nast Traveller within a year of opening.

Most notably, she developed the &Beyond Tanzanian circuit of lodges between 1997 and 2005, a pioneering and award-winning luxury eco-lodge circuit of 6 lodges and flying safaris. There, she introduced a B2C marketing and distribution strategy, which was unheard of at the time. By the time she left in 2009, she had a team of over 2,000 staff members under her.

Over the past 12 years, Debra and Chris have designed, developed, project managed, and opened multiple award-winning lodges for industry leaders in the African luxury lodge space. In addition to this, Debra has consulted on the ongoing operations of these businesses to ensure their success.
