Heidi Duminy is a Cape Wine Master and Principal of the Cape Wine Academy, South Africa’s leading wine school. A respected wine marketing and communications specialist, she is widely recognised for her expertise in Cap Classique and Champagne, as well as her passion for making wine accessible through education, storytelling and engaging tasting experiences.

With a career spanning senior roles at Meridian Wine Merchants, DGB and LVMH (Moët Hennessy), Heidi brings deep industry insight across brand building, trade marketing and global communications. She has played a key role in shaping wine education and professional development in South Africa, including the creation of impactful training initiatives and experiential learning platforms. 

An accomplished wine judge, Heidi serves as panel chair for the Amorim Cap Classique Challenge and has judged extensively for leading local and international competitions including the Trophy Wine Show, Veritas, the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards and Concours de Mondial. She is a regular speaker and advocate for South African wine and she is a member of the University of Johannesburg School of Tourism and Hospitality Alumini’s Golden Circle honoured for her dynamic and insightful approach to wine understanding and education.
